The BVI (British Virgin Islands)

The Virgin Island archipelago has protected waters with lots of little islands, bays, coves and anchorages where you can have a great time regardless of the time of year. The BVI is a real tropical paradise with the finest selection of both fully crewed and bareboat yachts that can be chartered by the week or less than a week.
The Bahamas
While these islands are at their best during the summer months, they offer the clearest water and fine white sandy beaches and great fishing and diving. Favorite places are the Abacos, the Exumas , and the out-islands. Best pick-up locations include Marsh Harbour, Nassau, Harbour Island, Staniel Cay and Georgetown.
St. Maarten, St, Barth and the Leeward Islands
This beautiful group of islands is located in the SE sector of the Caribbean and also known as the Windward Islands. They include St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Carriacou, Union and Grenada. Best pick up points include St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada. Sailors like to start at one end and end their charter at the other. These waters are not as protected as the BVI and are better traveled in spring, summer or fall.

Has 12 years experience in the the Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida charter business, ex-charter chef and mate. Gail has a corporate background, and is currently on the board of Directors of the Charter Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) where she chairs the ethics committee.
Tony King
Founder, partner and charter specialist at American Yacht; has been sailing and motor yachting since the age of 7. Born in the UK but has lived in the US most of his adult life. Ex corporate type re-invented. Over 12 years in the charter brokerage business and an ex Charter Captain, knows the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the Mediterranean really well. Member of CYBA and also the Florida Yacht Brokers Association.
